Job Description

Director of Supply Chain

Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing and will be accountable for all Supply Chain activities. This position will optimize inventory, minimize cost, and set and achieve supply chain goals such as service level and source suppliers as necessary.

This includes forecasting, capacity planning, execution oversight, logistics and warehouse management, supplier negotiations and contracts, supplier sourcing and auditing, superior computer skills, project management experience, lean, and and monitoring and reporting of results to management. Lead and facilitate SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) process for a given business segment in order to align market and financial requirements with manufacturing capabilities.

  • Identify, validate and transform innovative manufacturing planning and supply chain solutions aligned with key business strategies.
  • Implement a demand based planning model.
  • Create, implement and manage innovative performance metrics such as scorecards and dashboards to assist with increasing visibility and effectiveness as well as support growth through best practices.
  • Management of global inventory levels for finished goods, raw materials and work in process.
  • Accountable for Talent Management of department which includes acquiring, mentoring, developing, managing and retaining talent.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or Operations. Masters or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 7 years experience in Supply Chain and/or Operations and 2 years management experience.

Experience working in medical device, medical supply or pharmaceutical industry and experience in demand planning, forecasting and sales planning.

Experience in distributions, inventory and lifecycle management preferred. Marketing experience is helpful.

Experience in a fast-paced environment with continuous introduction of new products.

Superior ERP systems knowledge, preferably Syspro. Significant experience working with Demand Flow methodology.

Record of success as a creative and results-driven leader and manager.

Proven track record managing and planning within a global network.

Professionalism and strong interpersonal and partnering skills are essential. Must be able to work effectively with individuals internal and external and at all levels in widely varied disciplines; and be able to negotiate effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of tools including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc. required

Certifications (CPM, APICS or similar) are preferred. Knowledge or certifications in Six Sigma, Lean or other is a plus.

Other relevant skills required include: contract writing, cross-functional leadership, project management, supplier development, inventory management, problem solving, lean improvement techniques, financial and business analysis.
